About Us

British Federation of Film Societies - South West Group

We are the South West Group of the national body the British Federation of Film Societies - Cinema for All, funded by the UK Film Council. We are enthusiasts, running Film Societies ourselves, who understand the problems and rewards of bringing cinema to parts that other agencies don't reach. We are committed to supporting and extending our membership throughout the region and to exploring the new technologies of DVD and computer animation.

Paul Schilling, who used to run the South West Block Booking Scheme, is on the right. He is still kept busy by being in charge of one set of our digital projection kits. You are also likely to see him at Regional Viewing Sessions projecting films.
There is a committee consisting of the normal roles of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer plus coopted members. The committee meets about four times a year. We are always looking for volunteers to join the committee and get involved however much or little they are prepared to contribute. This is very rewarding work and much appreciated by member Film Societies, so step forward and contact Brian in order to offer your services.
